Color Design UK designer Stuart Haygarth created a manicured pathway along marble steps of the entrance inside the Victoria & Albert Museum for the London Design Week. Collaborating with custom framers John Jones, he uses over 600 meters / 1968.5 feet of custom painted frames, hence the artwork titled "Framed." The frames are of different profiles and sizes, which add to the three-dimensional quality.
Makes me think of Paul Smith, but only because that brand is so well known for its colorful stripes.

Through Oct 3, this exhibition at YBCA features different varieties of handmade, from modular designs to modified products. Some of my favorites include:
1) PUMA Mongolian BBQ shoe bar: A long table full of shoe laces, uppers, etc. to coordinate color and materials for a shoe.
2) A project by Danese to repurpose discontinued/left over stock Scandinavian designs.
Visited the Museum of Craft and Folk Art today and saw their Clare Rojas exhibit. Small installation, but very bold, graphic work. Painted panels are assembled like wall mosaics. I really enjoy her use of simple shapes to color illustrations.
Here's my overview of Paris from two trips, June and August 2008.
I've already done all the touristy stuff on past visits to Beijing, so this time I concentrated on arts and food. My last day at Hugo Boss was day after opening night of our collection exhibit in Metzingen, Germany. After last-minute shopping at their VIP/employee shop, I took the taxi to Stuttgart train station, boarded the ICE train (very nice!) to Frankfurt airport, and flew to Beijing to check out the Olympic grounds.
