hello!

As a Product + Color Designer, I am curious and enjoy looking at everything, from packaging to furniture to fashion design. I love to touch and feel objects, travel and experience new cultures, and I'm a huge foodie.

This blog is about what inspires me and experiences from all five senses that I enjoy the most, plus some bits and insights of my design process.

TechnoCRAFT

Through Oct 3, this exhibition at YBCA features different varieties of handmade, from modular designs to modified products. Some of my favorites include:

1) PUMA Mongolian BBQ shoe bar: A long table full of shoe laces, uppers, etc. to coordinate color and materials for a shoe.

2) A project by Danese to repurpose discontinued/left over stock Scandinavian designs.

Clare Rojas

Visited the Museum of Craft and Folk Art today and saw their Clare Rojas exhibit. Small installation, but very bold, graphic work. Painted panels are assembled like wall mosaics. I really enjoy her use of simple shapes to color illustrations.

Alameda Point Antiques & Collectibles Faire

There are some really great finds at the show, although much of it is quite pricey. Jewelry artists may find some nice antique watch parts and you can get hands on metal tiles, salvaged from ceilings of old buildings, to make a custom door or wall paneling. If you are serious about buying, go in the morning for the best selection.
